Grand opening of the new location in Würzburg
LAUDA Medical celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Würzburg on August 1, 2025. Around 60 guests from business, science, and politics joined the ten-member team in celebrating this important milestone for our medical technology subsidiary.
The new location on Friedrich-Bergius-Ring at "SKZ – Das Kunststoff-Zentrum" offers ideal conditions for development and production. The strategic decision for Würzburg was made due to its proximity to qualified personnel, particularly available through Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.
LAUDA Medical combines the agility of a dynamic start-up with half a century of experience. This unique combination is based on our nearly 50-year success story in medical technology, which began in 1978 with the first manufacturing and distribution agreement.
As a subsidiary, LAUDA Medical benefits from many years of experience in supplying hypothermia devices under the leadership of Managing Director Dr. Stefanie Krieger.

Dual leadership with Interim Managing Director Werner Kilb until the end of March
LAUDA Dr. R. Wobser GmbH & Co. KG announces that Dr. Stefanie Krieger has been appointed Managing Director of LAUDA Medical GmbH & Co. KG in Würzburg effective December 1, 2024. The 44-year-old biologist, who joined the company on September 1, 2024, brings extensive experience to her new position.
Most recently, she worked as an auditor for medical devices in accordance with the Medical Device Regulation (MDR). This EU regulation places strict requirements on manufacturers of medical devices to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and performance. The knowledge she gained as Senior Project Manager at a leading clinical trial and data management company in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology industry, as well as her scientific work at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, form a solid foundation for her new role.
Dr. Gunther Wobser, Managing Partner of LAUDA, sees her expertise and leadership skills as important success factors for the further expansion of LAUDA Medical: "Dr. Stefanie Krieger brings the professional competence we need to achieve our ambitious goals. LAUDA Medical, founded on March 1, 2021, specializes in the development, production, and distribution of medical technology devices and related services. The subsidiary benefits from the LAUDA Group's nearly 50 years of experience in developing and manufacturing hypothermia devices for the leading manufacturer of heart-lung machines. LAUDA Medical is currently focusing on developing a completely new successor device. This innovation will enable absolutely safe temperature control for patients during cardiac surgery.
As the new Managing Director, Dr. Stefanie Krieger is responsible for the operational business of LAUDA Medical GmbH & Co. KG at its new location in Würzburg. One of her main tasks will be the planned market launch of the new hypothermia device in January 2026. Dr. Krieger can count on the support of an experienced team of currently eight highly qualified employees. Her expertise will play a decisive role in further strengthening LAUDA Medical's position as a leading company in medical technology. Interim Managing Director Werner Kilb will continue to provide support until the end of the first quarter, after which he will focus entirely on his core tasks as Head of Finance at LAUDA Dr. R. Wobser GmbH & Co. KG.
Move to Würzburg completed
LAUDA Medical has successfully completed its move from Lauda-Königshofen to Würzburg. The medical technology subsidiary of LAUDA DR. R. WOBSER GMBH & CO. KG has arrived at its new location on Friedrich-Bergius-Ring at “SKZ – Das Kunststoff-Zentrum.”

The strategic decision for Würzburg is based on its proximity to Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, which provides access to highly qualified personnel. The new location offers the ten-member team modern premises that combine ideal conditions for development and production.
LAUDA Medical benefits from the LAUDA Group's nearly 50 years of experience in medical technology. Under the leadership of Managing Director Dr. Stefanie Krieger, the company is currently focusing on developing a completely new type of hypothermia device for safe temperature control of patients during cardiac surgery. The market launch is planned for January 2026.
